US intelligence contractor Acclaim Technical Services (ATS) is creating a new division as part of its effort to integrate the Maryland-based company it recently acquired, according to an ATS official.
ATS purchased Entegra Systems from CEO Dean Johnson, who founded the business in 2005 and intends to stay on in a consulting capacity, ATS chief growth officer Yvonne Vervaet told Janes on 9 December. The addition of Entegra's nearly 150 employees has increased ATS's workforce to more than 500 people.
ATS announced the acquisition on 2 December, bolstering its expertise in areas such as intelligence analysis, operational planning, and software and systems engineering.
Entegra brings “a depth of new capabilities to solve our customers' hardest problems, including cyber solutions, [signals intelligence] analysis capabilities, and a trademarked natural language understanding system that will benefit many of ATS' existing clients, along with many other additional solutions and experiences”, ATS CEO Dave Cerne said.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition builds on ATS's purchase of software firms Global Consulting Services in 2020 and Axis of Engineering in 2019. Those technology-focused additions helped diversify ATS, which was founded in 2000 to provide linguistic services.
After the Entegra transaction, ATS will likely take a short break from acquisitions. “I think we'll take a small breather,” Vervaet said. “I would say maybe a year just to make sure that we get the integration right, but, yes, we are still in the acquisition market.”
