Rolls-Royce business unit Power Systems has been awarded a contract by Damen to supply its latest-generation integrated platform management system (IPMS) and a condition monitoring system (CMS) to equip the German Navy's future Type 126 frigates.
Under the contract, announced on 25 January, Rolls Royce Power Systems will deliver its mtu NautIQ Master IPMS and mtu NautIQ Foresight equipment health management system – both of which form part of its extended automation solutions portfolio.
Rolls-Royce acquired Servowatch, a supplier of integrated marine automation solutions, in 2020, and said the mtu NautIQ extended automation series combines the advantages of proven mtu and Servowatch technologies under one brand. The evolved mtu NautIQ Master “offers the same base functionalities as the previous version with enhanced features on a much more flexible and future-proof platform”, it said.
The scope of the contract also includes the fire alarm, personnel locator, and CCTV systems.
