Ukraine is to join the CV90 user club, Janes learnt at Defence iQ's International Armoured Vehicles (IAV) 2023 conference being held in London on 23–26 January. Ukraine is becoming the latest user of the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle, as a result of the Swedish donation of CV90s to Kyiv.
The CV90 user group currently numbers seven countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. It will grow to eight when Ukraine joins and 10 when the latest customers for the IFV – Slovakia and the Czech Republic – become members.
The CV90 user club has a steering committee, system development board, sustainment, logistics, training, and survivability groups.
According to the BAE Systems website, the topics discussed by the CV90 user group are broad and in-depth, and could include missiles, smoothness of a ride, battlefield situational awareness, new technologies, and shared experiences.
For example, the user group has in the past shared experience on the lessons learnt from Norway about its deployment of CV90s in Afghanistan.
