Janes, the leading open-source defence intelligence provider, is proud to announce that Chief Technology Officer Phil Smith has been named winner of the prestigious CI0 100 Awards for the second year in a row. The award recognises leadership in technology-led transformation and celebrates business leaders who are driving change in their organisations.
The Technology and Developers team has been instrumental in developing groundbreaking solutions and its commitment to excellence has been a cornerstone of this success. At the heart of Janes transformation are Janes SOLAR and Janes Intara, which together deliver an integrated tradecraft and data-exploitation environment for open-source intelligence. These programmes are led and supported by the Janes in-house technology team and third-party partners.
Another incredible product that has been recognised is Janes Intara, an API-accessible knowledge graph, containing Janes assured foundational defence intelligence. Powered by Janes SOLAR, it structures the relationship between entities, such as orders of battle, equipment inventories, and defence procurement and has been developed to be able to integrate and interconnect with other data sources and unstructured text sources.
Phil Smith expressed gratitude for the recognition saying, “I am truly honoured to receive the CIO 100 Award for the second consecutive year. I would like to recognise the efforts of the Technology, Data, Product, and Technology teams in Janes who have spent the last three years building our Intara and SOLAR platforms that are transforming Janes. I would particularly like to thank the Technology Management team that supports me daily in achieving our goals, both transformational and operational.
